Mr. Burton was born in Richardson, TX in 1956 but moved, grew up, and lived in San Marcos, California ever since. He graduated from Palomar College in 1976 with an associate's degree.
He attended law school in the evening while working full time and received his juris doctorate in 1980 from California Western School of Law.
Immediately upon passing the bar in 1980, he worked for Century law offices in Vista, California
In 1982 he founded North County Bankruptcy Clinic, and he has been running the firm ever since. Moved offices to 574 S Rancho Santa Fe Rd. in 1988.
He has been a member of the San Diego County Bar association, North County Bar Association as well the North County Bar Bankruptcy Division
His 5 wonderful children and practicing law are the two passions that Mr. Burton holds above all else, as well as his amazing wife, Janet whom he married in 1988.
